The Z3

The origin of all computers: The Z3 by Konrad Zuse (1910-1995). Developed during World War II, it was the first computer ever to perform calculations electromechanically, store data, and execute initial programming.

But not only that: Zuse did not use the decimal system as was common at the time, but rather the binary number system.

The Reconstruction

The Swiss computer scientist Dr. Christof Traber has reconstructed the Z3 based on Zuse's patent from 1941. His reconstruction is currently housed in the Enter Technikwelt and is probably the only fully functional and regularly publicly demonstrated Z3.

No registration required. Participation included in the entrance ticket.
