The Swiss Honda Sports Book tells the exciting story from Honda's first sports cars to today's innovations – bilingual and richly illustrated. Included: the previously untold story of the Honda Club Switzerland.
Sixty years ago, the Japanese vehicle manufacturer Honda, then primarily known for its motorcycles, made international headlines: American racing driver Richie Ginther won a Formula 1 race for the first time in a Honda racing car at the 1965 Mexican Grand Prix. This laid the foundation for Honda's sports cars. Company founder Soichiro Honda and his team subsequently presented breathtaking sports models like the S600 or S800. These cars thrilled dealers and customers worldwide and led to the creation of a loyal fan base that continues to this day.
The Enter Foundation Publishing presents Honda's rich history in a bilingual publication (German/English). It showcases the full range of this traditional company: from its beginnings under Soichiro Honda to the latest innovations in robotics in Hollywood films.
For the first time, the history of the Honda Club Switzerland is also told – a club founded 44 years ago due to the need for spare parts supply, and whose anniversary prompted this book.
The book is rounded off with over 100 illustrations and an extensive data section on Honda sports models. A large portion of the images comes from the Honda vehicles exhibited at the Enter Technikwelt. Dive in and let yourself be captivated by the fascinating history and aesthetics of Japanese vehicles.
