Premiere of the 2026 Science Days at Enter Technikwelt a resounding success

The Science Days, held for the first time at Enter Technikwelt in Derendingen, attracted great interest on May 16 and 17, 2026. Around 1,000 visitors took the opportunity to learn about current developments in science, research, and technology up close. The event was aimed at families, school classes, technology enthusiasts, and early-career researchers and combined interactive experiences with expert talks and research projects.

Universities and research partners from across Switzerland presented their work and developments at the Science Days. Representatives included the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH), the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW), ETH Zurich, ZHAW, the University of St. Gallen, and the Switzerland Innovation Park Biel/Bienne (SIPB). Topics included robotics, digitization, mobility, sustainability, artificial intelligence, and space exploration.

Visitors could get hands-on at numerous interactive stations. FHNW showcased applications from robotics and plastics engineering as well as a virtual reality technology from ADHD and autism research. Curious attendees could experience virtual everyday situations used for therapeutic and scientific purposes. In addition, visitors could steer robots themselves through a maze, and various experiments were available for children and teenagers.

At BFH the focus was on interactive robotics and technical demonstrations. Particularly popular were a robot that plays tic-tac-toe and a system that sorted colored panels according to visitors' input. The offering was supplemented by further research and technology projects.

The Enter Technikwelt itself also participated with interactive experiments and demonstrations. High-voltage demonstrations, generators, motors, as well as experiments on radioactivity and computer technology attracted strong visitor interest during both days of the event. In parallel, various expert talks were held, including sessions on artificial intelligence and neurodivergence.

With the Science Days, Enter Technikwelt aims to present science and technology to a broad audience in an accessible and hands-on way. After the successful inaugural edition, a follow-up is already planned: the Science Days are scheduled to take place again in 2027 and will be further expanded.
